The youngest of six siblings from a small mining town called Slab Fork, West Virginia, Bill Withers wrote some of the biggest hits of the 1970s, including "Ain't No Sunshine" and "Lean on Me." But his favorite song—and his best—was the one he wrote about his grandma.
